Asian MMA and PMMA: Prices fall as demand weakens / S Korean and Taiwanese sellers aim for EU market / Indian buyers at around $1,200/mt CFR India for Aug

Asian MMA prices fell week over week July 23, with China prices falling by $5/mt to $1,145/mt FOB China, and Southeast Asia prices also down by $5/mt to $1,245/mt CFR Southeast Asia. Demand from Asia and other regions has weakened, with offers for MMA cargoes heard from many Asian suppliers, according to market sources. August-loading MMA offers from South Korea and Taiwan were heard at around $1,200/mt FOB Korea/FOB Taiwan, with sellers targeting the EU market and hoping for higher prices. An offer from China was heard at around $1,160/mt FOB China for an August-loading cargo, but a source noted that even at this level, buyers — including those in the EU, who had also been offered this price — showed limited interest.
