Producer circulars and grades
Indian producers issue circulars for each PP family: raffia / TQPP (woven sacks, FIBC), homopolymer injection and moulding, impact and random copolymer (ICP / RCP), film and BOPP, and fibre / thin-wall grades. Each change is announced as an increase, rollover or decrease versus the previous circular, in INR/kg or INR/tonne, effective from a stated date, with grade differentials and discounts on top. Reliance is the largest producer and usually the price leader; the others typically align within a day or two.
Mumbai drum and open-market band
Producer list prices are the anchor, but most traders and small-to-mid converters transact at drum and open-market rates in Bhiwandi, Mumbai and the regional hubs. As an indicative guide only (not a live assessment), Indian PP has recently traded broadly around INR 95–125 per kg depending on grade — injection and raffia toward the lower end, film and speciality grades higher — before scheme discounts. The gap between the producer list price and the drum price widens when demand is soft and traders discount to move stock, and narrows when demand support is present and producers hold firm.
