Weak demand on the European mixed xylenes markets in the week ending May 10 led to some price declines. Blenders showed pockets of interest in the European mixed-xylenes market, but overall, demand was low. No deals were concluded during the week. Consumers reported "little interest". A trader stated that "there is no market." All very quiet and nominal." Market sources reported limited activity on the spot paraxylene market as contracts were being met without any production problems, and that downstream demand from polyethylene terephthalate and purified terephthalic acids was slow.
