Purified terephthalic acid prices in India rose by $13/mt day over day Oct. 30, tracking feedstock paraxylene values and supported by a stable spread between CFR China and CFR India prices. PTA CFR India up $13/mt day over day and up $40/mt week over week at $1,110/mt Oct. 30, maintaining the spread to PTA CFR China at $90/mt. The assessment was below sell ideas heard at PX CFR Taiwan/ China plus $105-$110/mt FOB China, which equated to $1,017-$1,022/mt FOB China, considering a PX-PTA conversion rate of 0.665. It was above buy ideas heard at PX CFR Taiwan/China plus $160-$170/mt CFR India, which equated to $1,072-$1,082/mt CFR India.
