The Asian styrene monmer was stronger at $1,090/mt CFR
China February 31 amid a rise in the upstream market. $973.50/mt is the
CFR China marker. This puts the benzene/styrene spread at $116.50-131.85/mt. China's
inventory continues to fall this week. 13,000mt of styrene monomer inventory in east China dropped
in the week ending March 29. Activity in China continued to decline this
week as there was little interest in buying and selling spot cargoes. The benzene/styrene monomer is still thin with market
participants seeing benzene as more bullish than styrene. However, there was
muted activity in the week ending March 29th with a dip in domestic ex-Kandla
values following the previous week's dip by traders who were rushing to sell
