India Weekly Solvent X: From stable to weak amid weak fundamentals / Domestic prices drop amid weak demand / Thin CFR trading amid Limited Inquiries

Prices of Indian solvent-mixedxylene were either stable or softer in the week ending Nov.14 due to healthy supply and low demand. Discussions on December shipment were in the $90-$95/mt range, compared to the FOB Korea marker for solvent-mixedxylene. Sellers said that fundamentals were weak, and buyers' inquiries were few. Market sources reported that healthy port inventories, coupled with weak demand in the solvents industry, kept prices down and put pressure on traders' margins. The weakest solvent is C9, followed by mixed solvent xylenes (solvent C9) and toluene. A trader stated that the market was "overall dull". He added that discussions on contracts for toluene, xylenes and other chemicals would likely take shape in late December. Prices were low, with Rupees 65.50/kg being offered at Kandla, and Rupees 70.50/kg in Mumbai...
