India Weekly Solvent: Falling $34/mt over the past week amid weak market fundamentals / Weak demand in India for solvents / Thin trading due lack of buying interest

Indian solvent-mixed mixed xylene was priced lower in the week ending Feb. 28 due to an excess of supply and weaker buying interest. Market sources reported that March loading spot discussions in India were unusually low due to the availability of a healthy supply and the limited demand for solvents. Although there were some selling signals around FOB Korea plus $80-$82/mt but little buying interest, the market was quiet. A trader said, "There are currently no buyers on the market and sellers do not want to take any more losses." CFR India's solvent MX value was $788/mt CFR India, down $34/mt from the previous week.
