Sources say that the market was quiet and
demand was low. The FOB price for MTBE in Singapore dropped $21.65/mt from day
to day, reaching $943.09/mt on June 13. Trafigura offered $943/mt at the Market on Close assessment
June 13 for 2,000 mt of loading between July 7-11. SK Chemical offered $959/mt
at the Asian closing for 2,000 mt of loading. The MOC assessment process on June 13 saw no trading and the
FOB Singapore marker assessed at $943.09/mt. A trader stated that the Straits had more than enough supply
due to the MTBE traded from China the previous weeks. This led to more offers
on the market. The August ICE Brent
Futures were down 61 cents/b on a day-to-day basis at $72.52/b, June 13th.
