The price of copolymer polypropylene was $30/mt more on the week. However, homopolymer remained unchanged on July 3, despite weak demand. Some participants also reported a decrease in prices on Asia-bound freights for West Coast South America due to logistical problems that persist. The South Korean supplier offered homopolymer for $1,300/mt, and copolymer for $1,340-1,350/mt CFR West Coast South America at the start of the week, despite no major changes in supply or demand. The same source reported that deals were closed at $1,330-1,340/mt in the copolymer category later on in the week. The source said that buyers are starting to make deals as they know that freight increases are inevitable. However, transactions are still slow.
