WasteFuel & ITC Form Alliance to Build Landmark Green Methanol Facility In Turkiye

WasteFuel, a bioenergy innovator based in the United States, and ITC, a leader in integrated waste management, have announced an alliance to build a world leading green methanol-based biorefinery near Ankara. This project is the first of its type in Anatolia and will become a hub for sustainable marine fuels, situated at the intersection of Europe, Middle East, Asia. The project will reach a final decision on investment in early 2026. The Ankara Biorefinery, if approved, will cement Turkiye as a strategic hub of sustainable marine fuel, connecting Europe, Middle East and Asia. A Heads of Terms Agreement will formalize the collaboration and initiate the Front-End Engineering Design phase (FEED) for the ambitious project.
