The European market saw March polystyrene
contract price fall in the week to March 15. This was due to the move in
upstream feedstock monomer pricing and against an announcement from one
producer of an increase. Sources said that March polystyrene contract price
fell by as much as Eur100/mt in the European market. A third producer on the market reported
falls of up to Eur100/mt. The market's third producer heard
falls of up to Eur100/mt. This was in line with the March styrene monmer
contract price settlement. Customers refused to accept this
offer. In spot market activity was still low with demand remaining
