AA/VAM - Asian acetic acids prices were stable, except in China. Prices rose due to higher feedstock costs as well as a few unplanned outages at plants. Celanese Corporation shut down its 1.2 mt/year acetic plant in Nanjing on April 14, due to technical problems, according to a source familiar with the matter. Shanghai Wujing Chemical closed its acetic acids plants in Wujing and Shanghai for 12 days on April 17, for maintenance work, according to a company spokesperson. Chinese domestic prices in East China increased by Yuan 500/mt ($69/mt) on the week, to Yuan 3,150-3300/mt/mt/tank on 18 April. FOB China cargoes have been mainly sold at $375/mt on April 18.
