AA: The fundamentals of the Asian Acetic
Acid Market were stable March 2, even though domestic China prices were
discussed higher. This was due to upcoming planned turnarounds. King board Chemical, a
Chinese producer of acetic acid, took its 500,000 mt/year facility offline
March 1, for planned maintenance. The plant
is located in Xingtai, Hebei province. It will remain offline for between five
and eight days. In the meantime, a cargo
to India was concluded at $420/mt CFR India during the week of March 2. The counterparties couldn't be verified so the information
wasn't used in the March 2 assessment. Sources
claimed that the acetic acids cargo was Iranian-origin while others stated it
