Low AA stock in China / Chinese domestic VAM prices remain stable

Prices for Asian acetic acids were mixed in the week ending Jan. 23. The discussions for cargoes in Jiangsu were higher because of the turnaround of a local producer and low inventories, but FOB China discussions remained steady despite slightly higher Jiangsu Ex-tank prices. The total stock of AA in China was estimated at 100,000-110,000 mt for the week ending Jan. 23. A source stated that "it's at its lowest and most traders do not have stock". AA FOB China stable week-over-week at $345/mt January 23 amid discussions of $335-$350/mt. East China AA prices up Yuan 50/mt in the same time period to Yuan 2,800/mt, within discussions of Yuan 2,750-2850/mt.
