USPS: Export Prices Drop While Domestic and Import Prices Rise / PS supply drops 8.3% month-on-month, EPS falls 11.5%: ACC / Domestic prices rise 12 cents/lb in a week

US polystyrene had a mixed weekend, June 26. This was due to lower upstream benzene and low production rates. Spot export general purpose polystyrene prices were $1,779/mt FAS Houston. High impact PS prices were $1,939/mt FAS Houston. Both are down $24/mt since June 18. Domestic GPPS and high impact PS prices were set at 110 cents/lb & 120 cents/lb respectively on June 26. Both were 12 cents higher than June 18 and aligned with a price indicator heard at thesame level. Sources say domestic demand for PS has picked up. One source noted that current production rates are low. Producers are still operating at 55%-60% of their capacity.
