USPS: Domestic prices are stable this week / Spot PS Prices remain unchanged / EPS Prices Drop $13/mt in a Week

The US polystyrene contract prices were stable during the week ending August 14, despite the current uncertainty in the market due to supply problems. Market feedback suggests that the lower ocean freight cost could make US styrene imports more attractive. US domestic PS prices for general purpose were assessed at US$108/lb and US$118/lb respectively, both of which were stable over the past week. Sources claim that other producers have not adopted the recent price hike of 3 cents/lb announced by Americas Styrenics, effective August 1, for all polystyrene grade.
