US polystyrene was stable or higher during the week ending June 12 due to an increase in upstream freight and benzene prices. Market activity in the US was muted. Spot export general purpose polystyreneprices were $1,776/mt FAS Houston on June 12 and high impact PSprices were $1,936/mt FAS Houston. Both prices rose $7/mt over the past week. This was due to higher feedstock benzene pricing which increased 3 cents between June 5 and 11. In Europe, there was no change in the market with minimal activity and ongoing negotiations.
