Due to rising crude oil prices, upstream
naphtha prices and the adjacent MTBE prices, Asian toluene prices rose March
28. Crude
futures rose overnight, as bank equities helped push indexes higher.
Policymakers are trying to stop the spread of the banking crises. Asian MTBE was at $992/mt March 28, an increase of around
$24/mt. A $922/mt offer for 1,000 mt H1
loadings was made. It was valid until 4:21 PM Singapore time (0821 GMT). There
were no takers. Trading sources indicated
that buyers were interested in mainly 2,000 mt lots and larger lots. A trader stated that no one could trade 1,000 mt. Sources said that the US Gulf coast continues to see strong
