US West Coast Light End Daily Commentary / Portland suboctane differential rises more than 10 cents/gal / Marathon files the sixth unplanned flaring on Feb.4

US West Coast differential prices continued to strengthen Feb.5, amid falling imports and an unplanned flaring at Marathon's Carson, California plant. Los Angeles and San Francisco CARBOB up 1 cent/gal from the previous trading session to close at NYMEX March RBOB futures plus 46 and plus 41 cents/gal, respectively. In Oregon, the differential for Portland regular suboctane jumped on the day to move in line with California differentials. the gasoline grade up 13 cents/gal to futures plus 27 cents/gal following a trade heard in the market. Marathon reported an unplanned flaring at the Carson, California, facility on Feb. 4. The cause of the flaring is unknown.
