US recycled PET: Midwest bale markets continue to see seasonal growth / Californian bales stay steady in the week / Rumpke opens recycling center in Ohio

The price of Midwest recycled polyethyleneterephthalate bottlesales increased in the week ending June 18 due to strong demand levels. Buyers reported that the supply of bales in the Midwest and Southeast region was sufficient. They had no difficulty finding material. "However the sellers are increasing their offers. With the approaching warmer weather, the collection of PET bottles from post-consumer products is increasing. Sources say that bale prices have not dropped despite the increased availability of bottles. Offer levels reached as high as 29cents/lb deliveredSoutheast during the week. Post-consumer PET curbside Bales 19cents/lb Exworks Southeast, stable since June 12, and 18.5cents/lb Fob Chicago, up 1.5 cents/lb for the week, on June 18th.
