US PS: Domestic prices remain stable on week / Spot PS prices rise on week / EPS prices drop $46/mt on week

US polystyrene domestic contract prices remained stable in the week ended Aug. 28 amid mixed market expectations. "Polystyrene demand has been depressed," a source said. September could be a month to recover, as Asian demand will potentially increase, the source added. Market feedback indicated that some deliveries are delayed. "Higher domestic prices can be supported due to the current tight supply," a second source said. US domestic general purpose PS prices were assessed at 108 cents/lb, and domestic high impact PS prices were assessed at 118 cents/lb, both stable on the week.
