US Polycarbonate Prices Drop Due to Low Demand / Both polycarbonate grades drop by 2 cents / Sources : Market continues to be stable

US polycarbonate fell during the week ending Sept. 4, amid feedback from a stable market and low demand. Extrusion grade polycarbonate was 90 cents/lb while injection molding grade polycarbonate was 95 cents/lb. Both were 2 cents lower than the previous week. This assessment was based on lower upstream prices for phenol and Bisphenol-A, which fell $57/mt a week and $38/mt a week due to benzene fluctuations. Sources stated that the polycarbonate industry has been steady and quiet for a long time, with no indication of improvement in the coming months.
