US Polycarbonate: Prices down slightly amid steady market / Upstream BPA decreases $22/mt / China's Wanhua Chemical resumes operations

US polycarbonate prices dropped 1 cent in the week ended Aug. 28 amid market feedback of stable prices and steady market conditions. extrusion grade polycarbonate at 92 cents/lb Aug. 28 and assessed injection molding grade polycarbonate at 97 cents/lb, both stable on the day but down 1 cent week on week. The assessment considered distributor feedback of stable prices and a quiet market, also information placing US pricing at a $200-$250/mt premium to China CFR polycarbonate pricing, which held steady on the day at $1,820/mt. On the upstream market, BPA and acetone prices lower Aug. 27, which impacted downstream polycarbonate.
