The market sources expect that both spot and contract PETprices will remain bullish for the coming week. Rising ocean freight rates are pushing PETprices higher. A buyer stated that "spot imported resin prices will continue to rise due to the increase in ocean freight rates, which will also drive domestic prices higher." Container freight rates from Northeast Asia to the US West Coast were $7,100/FEU at the end of the week on June 11. This was the highest price since July 2022. The rates from Southeast Asia to the US West Coast on June 12 were $7,000/FEU, up $800/FEU from the previous week. This is the highest price since July 19,2022.
