Indorama Ventures, a Thailand-based
company, provided a glimpse into the future of polyethylene terephthalate for
the week ending May 10. According
to a press release by the company discussing its first-quarter earnings, global
sales of PET are expected to increase in the second half, due to seasonality
and tourist demand. According to the company's
release, volumes should slowly return to normal throughout the year. Destocking
will end and China's reopening will continue. The CEO Aloke Lohia stated in the release that "we are
beginning to see early signs of the unusual headwinds affecting our industry
