US MMA Spot Prices Fall 6 Cents Despite Domestic Tightness and Thin Imports / Prices fall within the seller's indications / Ex-Asia Imports Unfeasible : Sources

Sources report that the price of US spot methylmethacrylate dropped 6 cents in August despite tightening domestic markets and stagnant import markets. US spot MMA was 136 cents/lb, DDP USG on Aug. 28, down 6 cents from the previous day. This price is above a seller’s indications of value in the range $2,600-2,700/mt, DDP USG and below a second sellers' corroboration at $3,000/mt, DDP US. According to a producer the high container rates and lengthy lead times discourage sellers from importing Ex-Asia freight. The MMA import market is also stymied by a lack of supply in Europe.
