US MMA and PMMA: Spot MMA drops 1 cent per week amid narrow spreads to PMMA / PMMA demand and liquidity remain low / MMA Spot Trading Slows Down on Seasonality

Sources said that the demand for US polymethylmethacrylate was weak on December 11, with low liquidity being heard for domestic volume. US spot PMMA was 99.50 cents/lb USG DDP on December 11. This assessment was based on the weak demand and feedback from the market that spot levels were higher than methyl acrylate feedstock. It mirrored the MMA-PMMA differential seen in Europe, which is Eur10/mt (US$10.50/mt) when considering the similar market fundamentals of the two regions. US spot methyl acrylate was assessed to be 99 cents/lb USG DDP, or $2182.55/mt. This price was stable for the day. A distributor said that spot liquidity for PMMA is low because of the demand.
