US MMA: Market remains stable amid weak import demand / Arbitrage remains closed: source / Prompt deals for isotanks heard

Spot trading is muted because of weak demand. According to sources, the US Gulf Coast spot market for methyl methacrylate saw stable pricing during the week ending Oct. 9. High freight rates were heard and this weakened demand for imports. US spot MMA was stable at 116c/lb, DDP USG. This is in line with a value heard of 116c/lb. Participants noted a weak demand for imported goods due to high freight costs. They also reported a weak overall demand at the beginning of the fourth quarter. Source: "Customers are going to focus on domestic materials." There's not much demand for imports, unless arb jumps.
