Market feedback indicates that spot prices for US Gulf Coast Methanol were flat on May 6, despite offers for material in the immediate and future months being flat. Market feedback indicated that May and June were offered at 99 cents/gal ITC FOB, but no trades or bids had been heard before the Market on Close assessment. International Trade Commission (ITC) data released on May 6 shows that US methanol exported in the first quarter 2024 increased by 25.98% to 776.486 mt from Q1 2023's 616.331 mt. South Korea received 252,932 tons of methanol from the US in Q1 2024. This is 32.5% of all US exports. The Netherlands and Belgium were close behind with 37.4%.
