US LLDPE prices: FAS Houston prices are stable or lower due to limited demand / Butene and hexene are readily available / Planned turnaround of producers through June

Linear low density poylethylene prices on an FAS Houstonbasis were steady to lower on the week on June 12, as marketparticipants were in wait-and-see mode amid limited buyingappetite.Indications of butene rail car value were heard in a 42-43cents/lb range ($1,025-$1,047/mt FAS Houston) on June 12, withhexene grade talked in a 43-44 cents/lb range. Source feedback indicates that the FAS Houston assessment includes an additional 4.50cents/lb for bagging and transit costs. No new spot export indications for LLDPEmetallocene were heard, as a trader said demand for the grade was weak,and overall purchasing was slow. Metallocene fell $11/mt, but the grades of butene andhexene remained unchanged.
