The US PVC export price fell by another
$10/mt this week, as increased inventories put downward pressure on prices. PVC prices continue to be a concern for sources. Price
negotiations have been heard to range from $710-$730/mt FAS Houston. Participants
have reported a lack of market activity, and a weak demand. They are reportedly
keeping an eye on their competitors while they await the June export settlement. A trader
stated that although a bearish season is expected, they do not expect a crash.
They cited producer efforts to balance out weak demand and adjust operating
rates as the reason. US export PVC has fallen by $130/mt from March
22, when they were at $845/mt FAS Houston. They have also dropped $35/mt
