US Ethylene Glycols Spot Prices Rise amid Tight Forward-Month Product Hearing / Spot MEG and DEG increase by 0.50 cents each / Dow Plaquemine production as of June end: CEO

Monoethylene glycol spot prices in the US rose by 0.50 cents during the week ending July 26 due to market feedback about tightening supply for August and upstream ethylene bullishness. MEG has tightened up after several outages were heard following the landfall of hurricane Beryl on July 8. A distributor reported that all producers were sold out of August volume. "Sept is offered at 23 cents/lb by barge FOB USG." US Spot MEG on July 26 is 21.50 cents/lb USG, an increase of 0.50 cents per week. Multiple market sources have also reported a tightening of diethylene glycol supplies. Spot DEG was "unavailable" for July, according to a buyer.
