US Ethylene Glycols Spot: MEG and DEG Rise on Tight Supply, Rising Asia Spot Levels / Spot levels increase by 0.50 and 1.50 cents, respectively / DEG Supply Tightening Due to Turnarounds

In the US, ethylene glycols prices rose in the week ending August 30, as a result of tighter fundamentals and higher offers heard, as well rising spot prices from Asia. US monoethylene glycol spot at 21.50c/lb FOB USG is up 0.50c on the week. According to a distributor's report, a spot price of 22 cents/lb was offered for bulk. A trader confirmed the value at $462/mt, or 21 cents/lb. A trader heard spot diethylene glycol offered at $820-$850/mt (37.5-38.5 cents/lb), while a distributor heard deals done in the low 40s cents/lb range for truck and railway volumes. US spot DEG is 42 cents/lb FOB USG. This represents a 1 cent increase on the previous week. Triethylene glycol was not very active on the spot market, despite its seasonal demand.
