Spot butadiene prices remained unchanged week to week despite the rollover of nominations for August's contract price. US spot butadiene was 55.5 cents/lb CIF USG on July 26. This is stable compared to the previous week. Pricing indicators were heard as USCP or 53-56cents/lb. However, most market sources indicated that the prices in the US are not below the contract price. One US market source stated that "some producers do not sell spot due to pending outages." Another US market source stated that spot trading was "thin" this week. A third source indicated that the demand for butadiene has not changed, and that prices will rise in September.
