The price of the US export acrylonitrile market was stable for the week ending Sep. 3. Market feedback indicated that demand was stable. However, domestic prices rose, as Ammonia prices increased. US spot acrylonitrile is $1,410/mt FOM US Gulf. This price is below the offer of $1,445 FOM USGC. Market feedback indicates that demand has been stable. A producer stated that "demand is stable, but at midcycle level." The ABS (ACN downstream segment) is still at mid-cycle levels. However, the falling interest rate expectations could finally spur this segment to global growth since durables are a good ABS buyer. "Very difficult market for all acrylo providers.
