US ABS: ABS prices stable; upstream Styrene shows signs- Slow trade continues- The upstream styrene markets are stuck with negative
margins and lack of downstream demandIn the week ending March 22, the US
acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene markets held steady, as did upstream styrene
liquidity. Despite
some upstream styrene trade activity, prices were still below feedstockbenzene.
The downstream ABS markers were unable to supply sufficient demand to keep
styrene spot price levels below feedstockbenzene. The spot price of US butadiene remained near its two-year
lows, as was the demand. The US spot
export acrylonitrile price remained stable in the week ending March 21 despite
some slight recovery in the upstream propylene markets following sharper drops
