- Upstream styrene Monomer Down $38-43/mt in a Week- Producers Lower Offers





The polystyrene market was flat or weaker
in the week ending April 26. Producers reported slightly lower offers
than the previous week. An Unv1 producer of high-impact as well as
general purpose polystyrene spoke of softer demands. The producer said that the orders received were
"not much" when combined with the more competitive offers coming from
producers in China and Southeast Asia, as well as the weaker upstream styrene
markets. Container freight is estimated to be between $10
and $20 per mt. Also, Idemitsu announced that on April 25, they had
obtained ISCC Plus Certification for their two Malaysian subsidiaries
