Due to a tight supply, the Asia oxo-alcohols market saw a significant increase in the week ending Jan. 9. The 2-EH CFR China market was up $35/mt in the week to Jan. 9 at $1,080/mt. Nan Ya Plastics, owned by Unv1, has announced a force majeure because of "technical issues" with their Di-2-Ethylhexyl Terephthalate(DOTP), DOP, and 2-eth since December 27, according to a source at the company. The source said that there was no timeline for the return of sales. According to a producer, there was a demand for plasticizers in China before the Lunar New Year holiday.
