After a week of limited trading, the Turkish polypropylene prices fell in the week ending August 14, as economic concerns weighed on buyers' appetite. CFR Turkey PP Copolymer Spot Prices are down $30/mt from the previous week to $1,190/mt. PP homopolymer, fiber and raffia were all stable in price during the past week. According to the Turkish Statistical Institute, Turkey is facing economic difficulties, with an annual inflation rate of 61.78% for July. This suggests that the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey will not be reducing its headline interest rates, which were at 50% when the Monetary Policy Committee announced it on the 23rd of July.
