to falling demand and abundant supply, the Turkish polyethylene market fell in
the week ending March 22. The spot price for CFR Turkey HDPE film grades
fell $10/mt during the week to $1,110/mt February 22. Due to a drop in
demand, the Turkish market saw slow trading over the week. Sellers
received very few inquiries from buyers and there was little interest in spot
by buyers. This was due to Ramadan, which typically sees a lower consumption
of PE because converters have lower operating rates. Participants
predicted that a drop in demand during Ramadan would also occur in Nigeria and
