On May 2, despite thin trading, the Asian ethylene-dichloride price was stable at $300/mt CFA Far East Asia compared to $320/mt CFA Southeast Asia. Sources said that fundamentals of demand and supply remained unchanged. The trading activity was muted because of regional holidays. These include Japan's Golden Week, which will run from April 29 to May 5, and China's Labor Day, which runs from May 1 to 5. Southeast Asia was quiet as well, with both demand and supply stable. The cost-based value of chlorine was calculated to be minus 29.43/mt in May 2, compared to minus 31.41/mt in April.
