The European toluene market spot prices dropped in the week ending April 19, as gasoline blenders preferred other octane ingredients over toluene. Participants noted that gasoline blenders continued to have a lack of appetite for the toluene, despite the change in gasoline summer specifications. The market was more interested in cheaper octane blend components. A trader stated that the market prefers other, cheaper and more efficient octane ingredients.
