Asian Toluene: Prices rise on crude gains / China's inventory rose on the week

The price of Asian toluene rose on August 30, due to higher crude oil futures prices and downstream benzene. Both H2 October and H1 September laycans were priced at $828/mt. This was $1/mt higher than the last bid of $827/mt heard for a 2,000-mt cargo to be loaded in H2 September on a letter of credit at-sight during the Market on Close process. During the MOC, no transparent offers or bids were heard. There were no offers or trades. Trading sources reported that the domestic ex-tank price in China was barely discussed on the final day before contracts were rolled.
