The Asian toluene price increased marginally on July 26 amid a lack of spot-buy/sell discussions. Toluene FOB Korea was up $1/mt compared to the previous close of $845/mt on July 26. No disproving information was heard. Market on Close did not allow for transparent offers or bids. In plant news, JG Summit in the Philippines has shut its naphtha-fed steam cracker and related benzene-toluenexylene unit amid Typhoon Gaemi, trading sources said July 26. Trading sources said that the plant was shut down, with only the polyethylene plant running partially. The cracker and everything else is closed. Details of the restart could not be determined. Prices are still fluctuating. JG Summit was not immediately available for comment. The CFR Southeast Asia and FOB Southeast Asia markers were down by $24/mt each...
