Asian Toluene prices rise amid higher crude oil prices / Upstream crude oil rises $3.56/b on day / Stronger bids heard

Toluene prices in Asia rose dramatically Oct. 4 as a result of the surge in crude oil futures. The FOB Korea mark was $1/mt higher than the last bid at $809/mt during the Market on Close process. During the MOC, no transparent offers or bids were heard. Prices were reported to be higher as upstream prices continue to rise amid increasing geopolitical tensions. Crude oil futures rose in the Asian afternoon trade on Oct. 4, amid fears that the Middle East conflict could disrupt crude oil exports from the region. The front-month December ICE Brent Futures rose $3.56/b in one day to $78.24/b by the close of Asian trade Oct. 4.
