Stable prices for aromatics ahead of the driving season / Benzene/toluene Spreads Mostly Stable on the Week

US aromatics prices remained stable throughout the week ending April 26, ahead of summer driving season in the US. Since April 1, prices for mixed xylenes have been stable. The majority of sales are for the lower-quality MX used in gasoline blends. Toluene of commercial grade and toluene for nitration remained steady throughout the week, with little activity. The PX price trend was mostly downwards throughout the week, with a net decrease in value of $17.33/mt. US Gulf PX followed the CFR Unv1/China Paraxylene Marker, which was a balance between the limited improvement in demand in order to absorb growing supplies in the area and the stronger crude prices by the end of the last week.
