USGC Aromatics prices continue to drop on a weekly basis amid lower offers / USGC does not receive any MX or toluene imports during the week / Reports of PX plant shutdowns in Asia

US Gulf xylene prices and toluene fell in the week ending August 30 due to lower offers and a negative tone on gasoline markets. The price of nitration-grade, commercial-grade and mixed toluenes fell by 9 cents on the week due to a lack of spot market activity along the US Gulf Coast as well as weaker gasoline prices. US Customs data shows that no MX or Toluene cargoes were delivered to the USGC during the week ending August 29. Customs data revealed that 30,237 barrels toluene were imported into the US West Coast from China on August 22. Paraxylene prices also saw a mixed week with a $2 increase in the net.
