AsiaThe price of Asian toluene was stable or
higher on May 5, following the downstream markets for paraxylene, isomermixed
and isomermixed toluene. FOB
Korea's marker increased on the day. There
were few South Korea-origin spots as the country celebrated Children's Day. Asian toluene is up $10/mt on a daily basis and down $40/mt
on a weekly basis at $830/mt. Trading
sources reported that the US demand has slowed. A trader stated that the Asia-US arbitrage was no longer
possible due to the factor in backwardation. Southeast Asian buyers were largely aloof, despite a steep
drop in crude oil prices week-on-week that pushed down the price of all
