Methanol spot trading activity picked up in
India with several market participants sensing tighter-than-expected May
supplies, casting aside earlier talk of ample May arrivals. The market participants
were speculating that Russian parcels which had been expected to arrive in May
would now arrive in June. This led them to expect a tighter spot supply in May. A source also said that there was a gap in the scheduled
arrivals, which should help to keep inventory levels steady. Source: India has received 23,000 mt of Russian grain since
April. A trader reported that Iran's
availability was good, with all suppliers charging premiums of around 2%. Iranian supplies loading in may were discussed at a 1%-2%
