Thin Trading across Asia / ICE Brent futures decline to $81.96/b

The Asian toluene market was lower on May 23 as a result of weaker downstream benzene markets and upstream oil prices. The front-month ICE Brent futures fell 98 cents/b compared to the previous session, at $81.96/b. The C+F Japan Naphtha Marker is down $5/mt to $671/mt. The benzene FOB Korea mark is down $4/mt on the day to $1,052/mt. It seems that the market is quiet today. A market source stated that "there is overall weakness on the markets". I didn't see any offers or bids. Sources say that the aromatics complex was weaker on the day. They believe the prices are correcting themselves after the rally in early this week and late last year, which they attribute to the positive sentiment following China's stimulus announcement.
